Whistleblowing

At GEDIA, the commitment to responsible, ethical and lawful behavior is paramount, both in our own business and in our relationships with business partners and other stakeholders.

A whistleblowing system has been introduced by GEDIA to give individuals, companies and other organisations such as NGOs the opportunity to raise awareness of risks and breaches. This includes risks and violations in the area of human rights and the environment in accordance with the requirements of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). This also includes violations of applicable law in accordance with §2 of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) as well as other violations of internal guidelines, business principles, the Declaration of Respect for Human Rights, the GEDIA Code of Conduct or concerns about possible or actual violations of these regulations. The whistleblower system ensures that all reports received are received by an externally appointed ombudsperson.

All reports are treated in the strictest confidence, processed transparently and checked to determine whether a relevant violation in accordance with the provisions of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act or the Whistleblower Protection Act exists and appears plausible. The facts of the case will then be clarified together with the human rights officers commissioned by our company, and you will receive feedback on how to proceed with your report.

Persons who report an alleged violation in good faith that is not confirmed after close examination do not have to fear any negative consequences. However, it should be noted that intentionally or grossly negligent false reports can lead to criminal, civil and labor law consequences.

Guidelines

For sustainable action - Our reporting is based on the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), reporting option "Core".

We report on all major fields of action in accordance with the specifications. Our stakeholder matrix forms the basis for the selection of material aspects and key performance indicators. In the future, we will also use the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and examine the goals that fit our area of action.

With regard to our responsibility in the four fields of action, we have also formulated our own guidelines, which apply throughout the GEDIA Group.

To protect our employees and society, our Declaration of Principles on Respect for Human Rights serves as a guideline, derived from the International Bill of Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and its Follow-up, the principles of the UN Global Compact, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) and the Modern Slavery Act. On the basis of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), company guidelines have been formulated to provide our employees with security from sexual harassment and discrimination.

An external whistleblower body has been set up to act responsibly in the market and competition. In the future, this office will document all compliance reports that are transmitted within the GEDIA Automotive Group. Complaints can be submitted anonymously or with personal information at compliance-gedia@hep.legal.

In addition to an external body, GEDIA has the GEDIA Compliance Guideline and a formulated Code of Conduct internally.

In addition to our external whistleblower office, we would like to emphasize that the protection of whistleblowers is also a high priority at GEDIA internally. In accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act, we have set up an internal reporting office that serves to support employees in reporting possible violations of the offences listed in §2 of the Whistleblower Protection Act. This internal reporting office is available at the e-mail address hinweisgeber-gedia@hep.legal to treat reports or concerns confidentially and securely.

For more environmental protection, safety and optimal quality, the QAGU policy at GEDIA has been rewritten. The previous documents on the subject of quality and occupational health and environmental protection have now become a uniform guideline. In addition, the guideline on conflict minerals as well as the terms and conditions of purchase, sale and delivery also contribute to this.

All points are summarized in our ten guiding principles of corporate policy, which shape the everyday work of every employee at GEDIA.
